What is the “Great Mustang / Mustang Giveaway”?

The Giveaway is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Historic Aircraft Preservation Society, Inc. (HAPS).   HAPS is a Dallas-based corporation dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic and vintage aircraft from the 1930’s to the 1950’s.  HAPS is governed by a Board of Directors, who serve without compensation. 

 

All proceeds from the fund raiser are used toward the preservation and restoration of historic and vintage aircraft.   Our current restoration project is a 1931 Fleet Model 8 biplane. It was once owned by a famous WWII bomber pilot.  The Air Force named McConnell Air Force Base after the pilot and his brothers.  You can read more about HAPS, and the history of the plane and pilot at www.HistoricAir.org

How do I get tickets for the Giveaway?

Giveaway Tickets may be obtained in the following manner:

 

  1. By ordering online at www.HistoricAir.org/Mustang and submitting an online ticket form with a donation;

  2. By mailing (postage paid) your check or money order for the appropriate entry amount along with your full name, email, phone number and address (all required to enter) to:   Historic Aircraft Preservation Society, Inc.;  211 East Avenue G;  Suite 1224;  Midlothian, TX76065

  3. By requesting a Giveaway Ticket without a donation by using the method outlined in the Official Rules.

 

Can I enter the Giveaway by postal mail?

Entrants who wish to purchase tickets to enter the giveaway can do so by mailing (postage paid) a check or money order for the appropriate entry amount along with your full name, email, phone number and address (all required to enter) to:

What is the Grand Prize?

The Grand Prize is a 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Tribute Convertible, AND a flight in a World War II P-51 Mustang; or $25,000 in cash.

Who can buy a ticket for this Giveaway?

The Giveaway is open to anyone in the US who is 18 years or older (except 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 in Mississippi).  Citizens and residents of legal age in any other country in which giveaways and sweepstakes are legal may enter this Giveaway.  Residents of New York are not eligible to participate.

What is the donation amount per ticket?

Your donation amount determines the number of tickets you will receive. Ticket purchase amounts are:

  • $50 for 30 tickets, plus 10 bonus tickets  ($1.25 per ticket)

  • $100 for 80 tickets, plus 60 bonus tickets  ($ .71 per ticket)  --  Our Best Deal

  • $250 for 250 tickets, plus 75 bonus tickets  ($ .77 per ticket)

  • $500 for 500 tickets, plus 150 bonus tickets  ($ .77 per ticket)

 

Additional ticket packets will be available from time to time.  

 

How many tickets can I buy for this giveaway?

You may buy as many tickets as you like, as often as you like. We appreciate your support!

 

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize depend on the total number of giveaway tickets issued.

 

Who benefits from this fundraising giveaway?

The prize winner, as well as the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society, Inc.  

 

When does the giveaway end?

The giveaway ends at 11:59pm CDT on May 31, 2024.

 

When will the winning ticket number be drawn?

The winning ticket number will be drawn at Historic Aircraft Preservation Society restoration hangar at approximately 10:00am CDT on June 6, 2024.

 

Do I have to be present at the drawing of the winning ticket number to win?

No, you do not have to be present when the winning ticket number is drawn to win.

 

How will the winner be notified?

The giveaway winner will be notified on or about 11:00am CDT on June 6, 2024 by phone and/or email based on the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase. We will post the winner's name on this website.

 

Are ticket purchases tax-deductible?

Your ticket purchase is a donation to the nonprofit the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society, Inc. Check with your accountant to determine if your donation is tax-deductible. We do not warrant that your donation is or is not tax-deductible.

 

Are giveaway prizes considered to be income?

Yes. The prize winner will be required to submit all applicable IRS forms and pay taxes due in order to be awarded the prize.

 

What are the Official Rules for this giveaway?

How do I redeem the prize if I am the winner?

HAPS will contact the winner and provide all the details on pickup or delivery of the prize and appropriate paperwork. If the prize winner elects the cash prize, the prize will be delivered by U.S. Mail, wire transfer or other mutually acceptable means.
